Solstice Celebration planning update

This morning our group met near Trout Lake at a cozy coffee shop to begin planning Thursday's event. Despite the gloomier weather, Solare made up for whatever sunshine we were lacking by donning a vibrant yellow flower crown to set the tone for the week.
Solare embodying the spirit of solstice!
After we all settled in around a big table with our drinks and snacks we began to map out the day's activities and delegate responsibilities. We all have so many great ideas that it was at times difficult to organize our planning but we ended up agreeing on everything and dividing responsibilities very democratically.

We are thrilled to be able to host Tillicum daycare on Thursday and have an exciting morning planned for them with activities such as a musical parade through the garden and a mud kitchen among other things. We also have some fun activities planned for the afternoon with our guests, such as outdoor games, tea-making, and gratitude stone decorating. Susan and I went grocery shopping for the menu we have planned, and guests can look forward to snacking on the delicious cheeses and dips that will be provided, as well as a few salads containing the bright flavours of summer in the garden. There will be plenty of opportunities to engage the senses and delight in all that the summer solstice has to offer.

Much preparation still needs to be done before the celebration, and our group will spend the next few days ensuring that all the boxes are checked. We will also be providing updates for you as we go so be sure to tune in to stay informed.
