The Daily Dirt: Cooking in the Garden

Cooking in the Garden

This morning we made chutney using the rhubarb grown in our garden! We diced rhubarb and onion to small pieces and mixed together minced ginger, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and cloves into a large pot. Over high heat we boiled the chutney for 30 minutes until the liquid reduced and thickened beautifully. We had some sliced bread and cheese to go with our chutney and it was absolutely delicious! 🤤

Workshop Planning

During the second half of our morning we spent time brainstorming ideas for our workshop happening next Saturday on June 3rd 2023. Our ideas included making herbal teas, flower crowns, mint chutney, garden salads, guided meditation and many more. Come and check out the Orchard Garden workshop happening on Saturday June 03 to see what we will be doing! In the Orchard Garden, many vegetables are ready to be eaten such as kennel, lemon balm, oregano, yarrow, mint, parsley, green onions and lettuce.

Work Party in the Gardens

After our relaxing lunch break in the sun and breeze, we spent our last working party together watering and weeding our plants.
